Speech & Language Therapy Assistant (Oxfordshire) - Freelance

 

As a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, you’ll get the opportunity to work with a variety of clients in person, delivering therapy sessions to work towards their speech and language targets.

You might spend your day visiting schools, nurseries or client homes within your local area, whilst being supported by an experienced and qualified Speech and Language Therapist.

What you'll be doing

  • Delivering therapy sessions to children based on their specific needs and targets. 
  • Following the therapy plan put in place by a qualified Speech & Language Therapist, working towards key goals and milestones. 
  • Liaising with members of The Owl Centre, school staff, parents, guardians and other healthcare professionals.
  • Attending regular supervision sessions, whether 1-1 or as part of a group.
  • Completing case notes following each therapy session with your clients.
  • Planning your own schedule and availability, with up to 4 therapy sessions per day.


We'd love it if you had:

  • 2 or more years' experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Speech & Language Therapy Assistant, SEN Support, or similar role. 
  • ELKLAN training or a willingness to complete.


We'd love it if you were:

  • A great communicator with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals with various needs. 
  • Looking to build your experience within speech and language (especially if you are wanting to become a qualified therapist in the future!)
  • Able to work on multiple things and meet deadlines
  • Positive and passionate about our mission
  • Able to build great relationships and work collaboratively within a team
