As part of our ASD team, we're looking for several qualified and experienced Clinical Psychologists with full ADOS-2 training and a passion for all things ASD. As part of this team, you'll work with a broad range of clients, conducting comprehensive diagnostic assessments remotely, as well as exercising full clinical responsibility when leading on MDT meetings.

We are looking for clinicians who can commit to working exclusively with The Owl Centre as we want to truly invest in our people! We are open to a variety of working arrangements including:

·         Fixed Term Contract

·         Permanent

Why work for us?

You'll be part of a truly brilliant team of clinicians, who really care about the work they do. We’re all about quality over quantity.

At The Owl Centre, we pride ourselves on helping families to access the right help and support they need to make their lives better through delivering the best assessment and therapy services for both children and adults. We've got an exceptional team of highly skilled clinicians, including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, ASD (Autism) Practitioners and ADHD Specialists who work with thousands of families, both through private services and via NHS trusts and local authorities. Thanks to our excellent nationwide reputation, we have become the 'go to' experts for brands such as Netflix, Organix and Aptamil for advice about child development and early communication skills.

On top of this, you'll be supported by our highly experienced Lead Clinical Psychologists so will have the opportunity to grow and develop your skills, knowledge and experience in a patient-first environment.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing specialist psychological assessments, using and interpreting information gathered through tests, rating scales, observations and interviews (namely ADOS and ADI-R)
  • Evaluating and making decisions about treatment options, taking into account both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complex factors concerning the patient's history.
  • Exercising autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of clients whose problems are managed by psychologically-based care.
  • Providing specialist psychological advice, guidance and consultation to other professionals, contributing towards a client's formulation, diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Providing clinical supervision to less experienced psychologists within the team.
  • Working alongside Lead Clinical Psychologists to provide staff training and embed psychological thinking within the wider team.
  • Conducting ASD diagnostic assessments with children and adults.
  • Exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment.
  • Ensuring an excellent quality of service in both remote and face-to-face assessment settings.

We'd love it if you had:

  • A Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (recognised by both the BPS and HCPC)
  • Full ADOS training
  • Extensive experience in completing detailed developmental histories (ADI-R training is highly desirable)
  • Experience delivering online and face-to-face ASD diagnostic assessments, including differential diagnosis experience
  • HCPC registration
  • Strong understanding of DSM-V criteria and NICE guidelines in relation to ASD
  • Experience working in MDTs

We'd love it if you were:

  • Person-centred - a great communicator with the ability to effectively communicate with service users, colleagues and other healthcare professionals
  • Tech savvy – ability to use basic Microsoft tools such as Teams, Word and Outlook
  • Highly organised with the ability to work autonomously, managing your own caseload without guidance
  • Positive and passionate about our mission
  • Able to build great relationships and work collaboratively within a team

Not sure if you tick all the boxes? Don't be put off!

We know that candidates can be put off of submitting an application if they don't feel they are a 100% match, but we'd still love to hear from you! We understand the importance of diversity in building a great workforce and are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive culture where our people can turn up, be themselves and thrive.
